I have been thinking about this idea for some time now and finally started to implement it. Its fairly simple. The Lok Sabha Elections 2014 survey conducted by IPSOS in the Times OF India last week was the eye opener. I thought if they can come up with the numbers and charts why can't I.

I had registered the domain http://www.authenticfeed.com a long time back! I some how wanted to use it for real feedback! But I wanted to make sure I use the feedback tool for a cause! Not just collect random data and sell it.

AuthenticFeed is a platform for Indian Residents to share their opinions on whats happening around them! Every week we will pick 5 questions to start with and have people share quick opinions on those questions through the AuthenticFeed.com portal! Its Easy!

Do what you like ? Like what you do ?

There are people around me falling in both these categories and either one is right / wrong in his/ her place. I don't stand my own opinion here, but I take it in a slightly different way which might just be the right thing to do for me.

Now, Do I really love my job ? Do I really Like what I do or other wise ? There is actually a third possibility that comes into play here and that is - whether I am really good at what I am doing ? And that's really what matters here. There is quite a possibility that you are not good at what you really like. For instance I really like fast bowling.. Doesn't mean I will end up a better pacer than a programmer ? By the way the later is what I am right now.. one of the millions of happy coders!

Point being, I know people who will say.. oh you know what ? I love teaching! or I love sky diving.. Come on! Is that it ? I mean is that all that matters ? There could be people who are content and happy with what they have got. But I don't that really works in the real world/

Like everyone believes - Success is about falling in the right place at the right time! - now that's almost like a universal truth.

Agreed - If your career overlaps with your likes, you do a great job. But then only if your liking overlaps with something that you are good at. If it doesn't you got to give shots at things you could do better than what you are doing instead of just ignoring the fact and accepting the fact that you are so LUCKY! you are doing what you like..

Where's the money ?

I don't remember the day, we dint discuss about making money, some way or the other.. this way or that, no business idea left untouched. Some of the key ones were Real Estate, Cool Hotel, Cafe, Software that will make money, Politics ;) Agriculture... and a few other fundu ideas.. But not one could really grab our attention when it came to actually investing money. Where's the money ?

I am not an economist and I am not sure when the recession is going to hit, all I care about is my plans.. My Investment and Money making plans!

Getting my second web site up

Well, it has been on my mind for a long time to get started with a web site that either does web marketing or help companies with their Market Research program, obviously using already successful tools in the market.

Yes, I did think a lot about it as to how can this work ? Like my real estate dreams.. as in how exactly can we get started ? and then there is the second question - Does it really make sense ? or even if it does to me will it really make sense to others .. and its this question that matters most, and seldom the answer is Y..

I know I don't have the resources that would be required to start a online tool, not even the easiest one. So the best thing that I could think of at this moment is starting a consultancy web site that will manage web sites, the thing that I am best at. I can actually put my code for display there.

At some point I had to start, So the domain that I registered from the market research analyst point of view www.authenticfeed.com is my web site now.

Do you have any plans to shift to Pune? This is the question i am asked so often by people now... more often than Newton's law in all my exams.

It's as if there is just one way to measure the persons worth... and that is whether the person is in residing in Pune or not!

Roses..

Its been a very long time, the last time i wrote something was on Dusshera. I have been thinking so much lately.. a lot of things going on in my mind. Well, a couple of weeks back it was prioritizing people... then it was prioritizing thoughts, and now there is shift. Spending time has just helped me learn a lot of things, And today it lead me to think about this priority. What is priority ? It only comes into play when there are multiple things.. many to one.. that one which has higher priority.

As I said I have been thinking so much, Its time to prioritize my thoughts. Yes, elimination would be okay to discard the negative thoughts going on in your mind. But then once you learn that well, there are only the positive ones.. or the pure ones left in. Now what ?

This is where your desires come into play. Now look at me ? Whats creeping me so much ? I am exited.. full of energy working 16 hours a day! And then suddenly there is a shift in the mood... dependency comes into play. Things on the outside start getting inside... A minimum number of priority levels could at least segment your thoughts, if not arrange them in a strict sequence.

A thought always has a outcome, I mean what ever you think has a outcome. It can be a yes/ no kind of a outcome or a measurable kind of a outcome. An outcome that could be measured on our so called "success" scale. And we even start thinking of that outcome.. What's the point ?

A positive thought would most likely lead to a positive outcome, once you have that you shouldn't really be worrying about the outcome. I think I got my answers!

Progressive thinking would be much appreciated than round robin!

Celebrations

Its the season of mega festivals, we have the dushera today and Diwali lined up, which again is a bunch of festivals ;). Seasons from me are like check posts on a long journey called life, There is no destination. Every season kind of just reminds me about the last year, and I start thinking about what things were like one year back.. and What things are right now ? Its actually one way to measure my success/ numbers.. Its a sudden realization of 52 weeks gone. If I start counting the positives and the negatives in these 52 weeks, I have never been very satisfied with my performance. Performance for me is not just achievement, and of course not the numbers.. numbers here are package! balance ! savings !

A lot more than that.. coz these are the things we need not worry at the moment. I believe numbers come into play after we have attained a certain level of success or life standard. An example would be Ratan Tata. There is nothing that man can't do, He has all that he could wish. And there is no wish he could not fulfill. At that stage, how would he compete with the rest of the world ? What keeps him going ? I am not sure about that but I think its at that point when numbers come into play.

Anyways, coming to the point that's my look out towards festivals. Its like sub consciously analyzing the year that's gone.. and subconsciously setting up new targets until next Diwali, or next dusshera... I am a strong believer in god.

I remember the good old days.. when we used to get so exited about going home in diwali vacations. I don't remember me waiting for the next day after the exams finished, we used to take off the same day.. In fact the last paper was always fucked.. Geography! coz we used to do all the packing the day before and the excitement used to be at threshold! We used to make sure we carry minimum luggage, we never used to have much.. every thing used to fit in the school sack. a pair of shirts and pair of trousers ( bought on previous Diwali or summer ) I had my own reason for not buying much clothes when I was in school, My height. But even if that was not the case, the scenario wouldn't have changed much.

All we used to think about was that one month! full on planning.. And today looking forward to a month is like looking forward to day then. We used to have the exact amount that was required for the bus fare then. Not 5 rupees extra.. ha ha ha ( got us in trouble a hell lot of times ;) )

I can remember at least 10 shop keepers with whom I had a good rapo, where in I could ask for udhar ! and also money when needed. The bhajiwali aaji... she was the most easy one to ask money for, she used to have so much in her bag.. I decided then ke I will sell bhaji in a AC van, of course plans were only for college road ;)

So it was those Diwali's and it's this Diwali.. Not that I am not exited any more about the festivals, but its not the same. no way..
